I managed to find out about this show by chance when I took a visit to Lighthouse Books, and I’m so incredibly happy that I did. Sanjay’s work, filled with fun jokes, dance breaks, dazzling poetry, and immense vulnerability with sharing his story to the world of growing up queer and the struggles of dating in an immigrant family. I stumbled into Sanjay's show at my favourite radical bookshop, Lighthouse Books, in Edinburgh. Even in a small cosy venue, Sanjay managed to light up the space and captivate us as the audience. His joy and enthusiasm for performance were easily evident as he wove personal narrative of dating and growing up as a queer Asian man. My friend who watched the show with me is also grew up queer with immigrant parents and she mentioned how seen she felt by Sanjay's story. I so appreciate that I was able to happen upon Sanjay's show and hear his story.
